\subsection{I Timothy 6} \VS{1} As many as are slaves under yoke, let\fnImperative{} them reckon their own masters\fnDespotes() worthy of all honor, in order that the name of God and the teaching not be being slandered. \VS{2} And those having believing masters\fnDespotes(), let\fnImperative{} them not despise [them], because they are brothers, but rather let\fnImperative{} them be slaving [to them] because they are trustworthy and agape-beloved, those devoting themselves to doing good. Be teaching and exhorting these [things]. \VS{3} If anyone teaches otherwise and does not come with healthy words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the teaching according to piety, \VS{4} he is conceited, understanding nothing, but craving for controversy and debate, from which comes envy, strife, slanders, wicked\fnPoneros{} suspicions, \VS{5} mutual irritation of men of corrupt mind and depraved of the truth, thinking piety to be [a] means-of-gain. \VS{6} But piety is means of great gain with self-sufficiency\footnote{or ``contentment'}, \VS{7} for we brought nothing into the world, [it is] manifest that we can take nothing out. \VS{8} So having sustenance and clothing, with these we will be content. \VS{9} But those intending to be being wealthy fall into [a] test and snare and many mindless and harmful lusts, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. \VS{10} For the philia-love of money is [the] root of all evil, which some aspiring to, have been deceived from the faith, and pierced themselves with many woes. \VS{11} But you, O man of God, be fleeing these [things], but be pursuing justness, piety, faith, agape-love, endurance, humility. \VS{12} Be fighting the good fight of faith, take hold of eternal zoe-life\fnZoe{}, to which you were called and have confessed the good confession before many witnesses. \VS{13} I command you before the God making everything zoe-alive\fnZoe{} and [the] Christ Jesus having witnessed before Pontius Pilate the good confession, \VS{14} to keep the commandment spotless, irreproachable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, \VS{15} which in his own times\fnKairos() he will show who is the blessed and only Potentate, the king of those being king and Lord of those being Lord, \VS{16} the only [one] having immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, which man has not seen nor is able to see; to whom [be] honor and might forever, Amen. \VS{17} To those being wealthy in the present age be commanding [them] not to be being high-minded, nor to hope in uncertain wealth, but upon the God supplying you everything richly for enjoyment, \VS{18} [commanding them] to be doing good, to be being rich in good works, to be generous, sharing, \VS{19} treasuring up to themselves [a] good foundation against the [time] [about] to be, in order that they take hold of zoe-life\fnZoe{} indeed. \VS{20} O Timothy, guard [that] deposited [with you], turning away from profane chatter and contradiction of so-called knowledge, \VS{21} which some, professing, have deviated from the faith. Grace [be]\footnote{or ``[is]''} with you.
