Lord, today I want to count differently.
Not what's missing.
Not what's owed to me.
Just what's here.

This breath.
Coffee warm in my hands.
Sunlight streaming in the window.
Birds singing in the trees outswide.
A voice I love in the next room.

You have not left me.
Every good thing was Yours before it was mine ---
this table,
this roof,
these hands still able to work.

Let me name them before the day crowds in.
Not a grand list.
Just today's list ---
small, true, and enough.

All that is within me,
praise You.
Not for what's coming.
Not for what's owed.
For this --- right now.
