\subsection{I Timothy 2} \VS{1} I exhort you therefore first of all to be doing entreaty, prayer, intercession, thanksgiving, concerning all men, \VS{2} concerning kings and all being in prominence, in order that we live [a] tranquil and quiet life in all piety and dignity. \VS{3} This is good and acceptable before God our savior, \VS{4} who wants all men to be saved and to come to true knowledge. \VS{5} For God [is] one, and [there is] one mediator of God and men, [a] man Christ Jesus, \VS{6} the [one] having given himself [as] ransom in behalf of all, the testimony [being] in its own opportune-time\fnKairos(); \VS{7} for which I was appointed herald and apostle --- I say truth, I do not lie --- teacher\footnote{compare \myxref{Matt}{23}{8}} of the nations in faith and truth. \VS{8} I intend therefore [that] men be praying in every place, lifting up approved hands without wrath and argument. \VS{9} Likewise I intend [that] women adorn themselves with respectable apparel, with modesty and decency, not with braided [hair] and gold or pearl or expensive clothing, \VS{10} but what is proper for women professing piety, through good works. \VS{11} Let\fnImperative{} [the] women be learning in silence in all subjection. \VS{12} For I do not permit [a] woman to be teaching, nor to be dominating [a] man, but to be in silence. \VS{13} For Adam was first formed, then Eve. \VS{14} And Adam was not deceived, but the woman having been deceived came to be in transgression. \VS{15} But she will be saved through childbearing, if they abide in faith and agape-love and holiness with decency.
