\subsection{Imperatives in the New Testament}
A listing of verses in which the imperative form of the Greek verb appears.

Matt 2:8 ... having sent them to Bethlehem he said: Having gone, search out accurately concerning the child, and when you find him, report to me...

Matt 2:13 ... behold an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream saying: Having arisen, be taking the child and his mother, and be fleeing to Egypt, and be there until I say otherwise to you...

Matt 2:20 [19] an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream in Egypt [20] saying: Having arisen, be taking the child and his mother and go to the land Israel...

Matt 3:2 [John the Baptist:] Be repenting, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand.

Matt 3:3 [Isaiah:] Prepare the way of the Lord, 
Be making his paths straight.

Matt 3:8 [John the Baptist:] Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance. 

Matt 3:15 And answering Jesus said to him: Permit it just now, for thus it is a fitting thing for us to fulfill all justice

Matt 4:3 And the one testing him having come, he said to him: If you are the son of God, speak in order that these stones become bread.

Matt 4:6 And he says to him: If you are the son of God, throw yourself down...

Matt 4:10 Then Jesus says to him: Be departing, Satan...

Matt 4:17 From then on Jesus began preaching and saying: Be repenting, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand. 

Matt 5:12 Be rejoicing and be being glad, for great is your reward in the heavens. For thus they persecuted the prophets before you. 

Matt 5:16 So let your light shine before men, that they see your good works and glorify your father in the heavens. 

Matt 5:24 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and be going first and be reconciled to your brother, and then having come, be bringing your gift. 

Matt 5:25 Be being kind to your opponent swiftly while you are with him in the road...  

Matt 5:29 And if your right eye makes you stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you...

Matt 5:30 And if your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you...

Matt 5:31 And it was said: Whoever puts away his wife, let him give her a divorce.

Matt 5:37 Let your word yes be yes and no be no, and what is more than this is from evil.

Matt 5:39 but whoever strikes the right side of your cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matt 5:40 And to the one wanting to sue you and take your shirt, give up to him your coat also.

Matt 5:41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Matt 5:42 Give to whoever asks of you, and from the one wanting to borrow from you do not turn away. 

Matt 5:44  Be agape-loving your enemies and be praying for those persecuting you.

Matt 6:1 Be giving heed that you not be doing your justice before men to be beheld by them

Matt 6:3 But when you do a merciful thing, let1 your left hand not know what your right hand is doing,

Matt 6:6 But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and having closed the door, pray to your father which is in secret

Matt 6:9 Therefore pray [imperative] thusly: 
Our father6 in the heavens, 
Let [imperative] your name be holy, 

Matt 6:10 Your kingdom come 
Your will come to pass 

Matt 6:11 Give us today our bread for the day 

Matt 6:12 And allow us our shortcomings 

Matt 6:13 And do not lead us into the test, 
but rescue us from evil

Matt 6:16 Now when you fast, do not become sullen like the hypocrites

Matt 6:17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face

Matt 6:19 Be not treasuring up treasures to yourselves on earth

Matt 6:20 But be treasuring up treasures in heaven

Matt 6:25 be not concerning yourself about your soul: what you shall eat

Matt 6:26 Behold the birds of the heavens: that they do not sow...

Matt 6:28 Learn from the lilies of the field how they grow

Matt 6:33 Be seeking first the kingdom and its justice, and all these things will be added to you.

Matt 7:1 Be not judging, that you not be judged.

Matt 7:4 Or how will you say to your brother: Let me throw the speck out of your eye...

Matt 7:5 First throw the log out of your own eye, and then you will see straight ...

Matt 7:7 Be asking, and it will be given to you; be seeking, and you will find; be knocking, and it will be opened to you. 

Matt 7:12 Therefore everything which you wish that men be doing to you, also be doing to them. 

Matt 7:13 Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road leading to destruction...

Matt 7:15 Be giving heed from the false-prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing...

Matt 7:23 And then I will profess to them that I never knew them. Be departing from me you working lawlessness.
