\textit{To Make a Merry Wine-Music}

Take 8 glasses of equal form; put in the one a spoonful of wine, in the other two, in the third three, and so on; then let eight persons, with fingers dipped in wine, at the same moment pass them over the brim of the glasses and there will be heard a merry wine-music that the very ears will tingle. You can also have fewer glasses speak in thirds, fifths and octaves, by controlling the size of the glasses and the amount of water being more or less.

A half-empty and completely-empty glass make an octave; 2/3 empty makes a fifth; 1/3 empty makes a third.
