\subsection{Mark 14}
\subsubsection{The Plot Against \Iesous}
\VS{1} Now after two days it was the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. 
And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how by treachery 
having laid hold of him they may kill him. 
\VS{2} For they were saying: Not during 
the festival, lest there be [a] riot among the people. 

\subsubsection{\Iesous's Anointing}
\VS{3} And while he was in \Bethania in the house of \Simon the leper, 
while he was reclining, 
[a] woman came having an alabaster flask of costly genuine nard ointment. 
Having broken the alabaster flask she poured [it] down upon his feet. 
\VS{4} Now some were indignant to themselves: 
For what is this waste of ointment come to pass? 
\VS{5} For she was able to sell this ointment for over three hundred denarii 
and to give [it] to the poor; and they scolded her. 
\VS{6} But \Iesous said: Allow her. 
Why do you cause her trouble, for she has worked [a] good work in me. 
\VS{7} For you always have the poor with you, 
and when you want you are able to do them well, but me you do not always have. 
\VS{8} What she had she did; She anticipated to anoint my body for preparation for burial. 
\VS{9} And truly I say to you, 
wherever the good-news be preached in the whole world, 
even what this [one] did will be told in remembrance of her. 

\subsubsection{The Plan to Betray \Iesous}
\VS{10} And \Ioudas \Iscariot, one of the twelve, 
departed to the chief priests in order to deliver him up to them. 
\VS{11} Now when they heard they rejoiced and promised to give him silver. 
And he was seeking how he might conveniently deliver him up.

\subsubsection{The Passover}
\VS{12} And on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, 
when they were sacrificing the Passover, his disciples say to him: 
Where do you want that we having departed should prepare in order that you eat the Passover? 
\VS{13} And he sends two of his disciples and saying to them: 
Be going into the city, and [a] man will meet you carrying [a] vessel of water; 
follow him. 
\VS{14} And where he goes in, say to the house-master that: 
The teacher says: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples? 
\VS{15} And he will show you [a] great upper room furnished [and] ready, 
and there prepare for us. 
\VS{16} And the disciples went out and came into the city 
and found just as he said to them, and they prepared the passover. 

\VS{17} And evening having come to pass he comes with the twelve. 
\VS{18} And while they were reclining and eating \Iesous said: Truly I say to you that 
one [of you] will betray me, one eating with me. 
\VS{19} They began to be grieved 
and to be saying to him one by one: [Is it] I?\fnGrammarIndicatesNo{} 
\VS{20} But he said to them: One 
of the twelve, one\footnote{or ``the [one]''} dipping with me into the bowl. 
\VS{21} Because on the one hand the son of man goes just as it is written 
concerning him, but on the other hand woe to that man through whom the son 
of man is delivered up; it would have been better if that man had not been 
born. 

\subsubsection{The Lord's Supper}
\VS{22} And while they were eating, taking bread [and] having blessed [it] he 
broke and gave [it] to them and said: Take, this is my body. 
\VS{23} And taking 
the cup [and] having given thanks he gave [it] to them, and they were all drinking of it. 
\VS{24} And he said to them: This is my blood of the \footnote{insert 
``new'' \koine{} \vulgate{} many; text: \sinaiticus{}BD} contract being poured out in behalf of 
many. 
\VS{25} Truly I say to you that I will \negt{NO LONGER} drink of 
the produce of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of 
God. 
\VS{26} And having sung they went out to the mount of olives. 

\subsubsection{The Prediction of \Petros's Denial}
\VS{27} And \Iesous says to them that: You will all be stumbled, because it is 
written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered. 
\VS{28} 
But after my resurrection I will go before you to \Galilee. 
\VS{29} But \Petros 
said to him: If indeed they may all be scattered, but not I. 
\VS{30} And 
\Iesous says to him: Truly I say to you that you today --- in this night 
before the cock crows --- twice will thrice deny me. 
\VS{31} But he said 
emphatically: If it be necessary that I die with you, I will \negd{not} deny you. And all were saying likewise.

\subsubsection{Gethsamane}
\VS{32} And they come to the region of which the name is Gethsemane, and he 
says to his disciples, Sit here while I pray. 
\VS{33} and he took \Petros and 
\Jacob\fnJacob{} and \John with him, and he began to be distressed and troubled, 
\VS{34} and he says to them: My psyche-life\fnPsyche{} is grieved until death; Remain here and be 
watching. 
\VS{35} And having gone ahead [a] little he was falling upon the 
ground\fnGe{}, and was praying that if it is possible may the hour pass from him, 
\VS{36} and he was saying: Daddy, father, all is possible to you, Take this 
cup from me; But not what I want, but what you want. 
\VS{37} And he comes 
and finds them sleeping, and he says to \Petros: \Simon, do you sleep? Are you 
not strong [enough] to watch one hour? 
\VS{38} Be watching and be praying, in order 
that you not come into [a] test, for the spirit is willing, but the flesh is 
feeble. 
\VS{39} And again departing he was praying saying the same word. 
\VS{40} And again coming he found them sleeping, for their eyes were weighed 
down, and they did not know what to answer him. 
\VS{41} And he comes the 
third time and says to them: Be then sleeping now and be resting, it is 
enough\footnote{can also mean ``The account is closed.''}, the hour has come, 
behold the son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners. 
\VS{42} Be arising, Let us go, behold the [one] delivering me up has drawn nigh. 

\subsubsection{Betrayal and Arrest}
\VS{43} And 
immediately while he was yet speaking \Ioudas one of the twelve arrived and 
with him [a] crowd from the chief priests and scribes and elders with swords 
and clubs. 
\VS{44} Now the [one] delivering him up had given them [a] sign: Whom I 
kiss is he; Lay hold of him and lead [him] away securely. 
\VS{45} and having come immediately having gone to him he says: Rabbi, and kissed him; 
\VS{46} So they put their hands on him and laid hold of him. 
\VS{47} Now a certain one 
of those standing by having drawn his sword struck the slave of the chief 
priest and took off his ear. 
\VS{48} And \Iesous answering said to them: Have 
you come out as upon [a] robber with swords and clubs to arrest me? 
\VS{49} By 
day was I with you in the temple teaching, and you did not lay hold of me; 
but in order that the scripture be fulfilled. 
\VS{50} And having left him 
they fled. 
\VS{51} And a certain young man followed him wearing [a] shirt upon 
his nakedness. 
\VS{52} But having left the shirt he fled naked.

\subsubsection{Condemned by the Sanhedrin}
\VS{53} And they led \Iesous to the chief priest, and all the chief priests 
and scribes and elders gathered. 
\VS{54} And \Petros followed him from afar 
until outside the courtyard of the chief-priests, and was sitting together 
with the servants and warming himself before the fire. 
\VS{55} Now the chief 
priests and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking against \Iesous witnesses in 
order to put him to death, and they were not finding [any]. 
\VS{56} For many were 
falsely witnessing against him, and the witnesses were not consistent. 
\VS{57} And some having stood up were falsely witnessing against him saying 
\VS{58} that: We heard him saying that: I will destroy this temple made with 
hands and in three days I will build another not made with hands. 
\VS{59} 
And thus was the witness not consistent. 
\VS{60} And having stood up in the 
midst, the chief priest asked \Iesous saying: Why do you answer these your 
accusers \negd{nothing}? 
\VS{61} But he was silent and answered 
\negd{nothing}. Again the chief priest asked him and says to him: Are 
you the Anointed\fnChristos{} [One] the son of the blessed [one]? 
\VS{62} So \Iesous said: I am, and you 
will see the son of man sitting at the right [hand] of power and coming with the 
clouds of heaven. 
\VS{63} So the chief priest having rent his tunic says: 
What further need do we have of witnesses? 
\VS{64} You heard the [God] slander; 
What does it seem to you? And all judged him to be worthy of death. 
\VS{65} And some began to be spitting on him and to be covering his face and to be 
beating him and to be saying to him: Prophesy, and the officers were 
delivering him blows. 

\subsubsection{\Petros's Denials}
\VS{66} And \Petros being below in the courtyard, one of 
the servants of the chief priest comes, 
\VS{67} and having seen \Petros 
warming himself, having fixed her gaze on him she says: You also were with 
the \Nazareth \Iesous. 
\VS{68} But he denied [it] saying: Neither do I know nor 
understand what you are saying. And he went out into the outer court. And 
the cock crowed\footnote{``And the cock crowed'' D \koine{} \vulgate{} many; omit: \sinaiticus{}BW}. 
\VS{69} And the servant girl having seen him again began to be saying 
to those standing by that: This [one] is among them. 
\VS{70} But he again denied 
[it]. And after [a] little those standing by again were saying to him: Truly you 
are among them, for you are also [a] Galilean. 
\VS{71} But he began to cursing 
and swearing\footnote{or ``oathing''} that: I do not know this man of whom you 
speak. 
\VS{72} And immediately the cock crowed [a] second [time]. And \Petros was 
minded of the word as \Iesous said to him that: Before the cock crows twice 
you shall thrice betray me; and having fallen upon [this thought]\footnote{or ``[the ground]''} he wept.
