\subsection{I John 1}
\VS{1} What was from [the] beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our
eyes, what we have beheld and our hands have handled, concerning the word of
zoe-life\fnZoe{} ---
\VS{2} and zoe-life\fnZoe{} was manifested, and we saw [it], and testify, and
declare to you eternal zoe-life\fnZoe{}, which is with the father and was manifested to
us ---
\VS{3} what we have seen and heard, we also declare to you, in order
that you also have fellowship with us. And our fellowship [is] with the father
and with his son Jesus Christ.
\VS{4} And we write these [things] to you in order
that our\footnote{``our \sinaiticus{}B; ``your'' \koine } joy be made full.
\VS{5} And
this is the message which we head from him and announce to you, that God is
light and there is \negd{no} darkness in him.
\VS{6} If we say that we
have fellowship with him and are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do
the truth.
\VS{7} But if we be walking in the light as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his son cleanses
us from all sin.
\VS{8} If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves
and the truth is not in us.
\VS{9} If we be confessing our sins, he is
trustworthy and just, in order that he forgive us [our] sins and cleanse us from
all unjustness.
\VS{10} If we say that we have not sinned, we make him [a] liar
and his word is not in us.
