\subsection{Romans 6}

\VS{1} What therefore shall we say? Let us be remaining in sin, in order that grace
|
|
increase?
|
|
\VS{2} May it not be! We who have died to sin, how will we yet zoe-live\fnZoe{} in it?
|
|
\VS{3} Or are you ignorant that as many of us as have been
|
|
baptized into Christ Jesus, we have been baptized into his death?
|
|
\VS{4} We
|
|
are therefore buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just
|
|
as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the father, thus we
|
|
also should walk in newness of zoe-life\fnZoe{}.
|
|
\VS{5} For if we are become grown
|
|
together in the likeness of his death, we also will be [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection.
|
|
\VS{6} Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him] in order that the
|
|
body of our sin be nullified, that we no longer be slaving-to sin;
|
|
\VS{7} For the [one] having died is justified\footnote{or ``acquited''} from sin.
|
|
\VS{8} So if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him,
|
|
\VS{9} having known that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no
|
|
more --- death no longer has dominion over him.
|
|
\VS{10} For in that he died,
|
|
he died once to sin; but in that he zoe-lives\fnZoe{}, he lives to God.
|
|
\VS{11} Thus you
|
|
also reckon yourselves to be dead to sin but zoe-living\fnZoe{} to God in Christ Jesus.
|
|
\VS{12} Therefore let\fnImperative{} sin not be reigning in your
|
|
death-like bodies to obeying your lusts,
|
|
\VS{13} neither be yielding your
|
|
members [as] weapons of injustice to sin, but yield yourselves to God as zoe-living\fnZoe{}
|
|
from [the] dead, and your members as weapons of justice to God,
|
|
\VS{14} for sin will have no dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
|
|
\VS{15} What therefore? Shall we sin, because we are not under law but under
|
|
grace? May it not be!
|
|
\VS{16} Do you not know that to whom you yield
|
|
yourselves slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of
|
|
sin to death or obedience to justness?
|
|
\VS{17} But grace [be] to God because you were slaves of sin,
|
|
but you obeyed from the heart that type of teaching you were delivered.
|
|
\VS{18} So having been freed from sin you were enslaved to justice.
|
|
\VS{19} I speak man-wise because of the weakness [of your] flesh. For just
|
|
as you presented your members slaves to uncleanness and to lawlessness
|
|
resulting in lawlessness, thus now you have presented your members slaves to
|
|
justice, resulting in holy-fication.
|
|
\VS{20} For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from justice.
|
|
\VS{21} What fruit therefore did you the
|
|
have, upon which [things] you are now ashamed? For the end of those [is] death.
|
|
\VS{22} But now having been freed from sin, having been enslaved to God, you have
|
|
your fruit to holy-fication, the end [of which is] zoe-life\fnZoe{} eternal.
|
|
\VS{23} For the wages of
|
|
sin [is] death, but the gift\footnote{from GRACE} of God is zoe-life\fnZoe{} eternal in
|
|
Christ Jesus our Lord.
