\subsection{Hebrews 10}
\VS{1} For the law having [a] shadow of impending good [things]
but not itself the image of the matter, yearly by the sacrifices themselves
which they offered continually is never able to complete\footnote{or ``perfect''}
those approaching,
\VS{2} since would they not have ceased being offered on
account of those ministering, no longer having consciousness\footnote{or
``conscience''} of sins, having been cleansed once?
\VS{3} Rather in them
[is] yearly reminder\footnote{or ``remembrance''} itself of sins,
\VS{4} for the
blood of bulls and goats [is] unable to take away sins.
\VS{5} Therefore [The one] coming
into the world says:
\begin{verse}
I do not want sacrifices and offerings, \\
But I will prepare [a] body for me, \\
\VS{6} And in whole burnt offerings for sins I do not take pleasure.
\\
\VS{7} Then I said, Behold I am present, \\
In the roll of the scroll it is written concerning me, \\
To do, O God, your will.
\end{verse}
\VS{8} Earlier saying that: Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt
offering concerning sins I do not want nor take pleasure in, which they were
offering according to the law,
\VS{9} then he has said: Behold I am present
to do your will. The first is taken away in order that the second may stand,
\VS{10} in whose will we are made holy through the offering of the body of
Jesus Christ once and for all.
\VS{11} And on the one hand every priest
stood each day ministering and offering the same sacrifices often, which are
never able to take away sins,
\VS{12} but this [one] having offered one sacrifice
in behalf of sins forever sat at the right of God,
\VS{13} the rest waiting
until his enemies be placed [a] footstool for his feet.
\VS{14} For by one
sacrifice he has completed\footnote{or ``perfected''} those being made holy.
\VS{15} But even the Holy Spirit witnesses to us, for after what he says:
\begin{verse}
\VS{16} This is [the] contract\footnote{or ``covenant'', ``testament''} which I
contracted towards you \\
After those days, says the Lord, \\
Giving my laws upon their heart \\
And upon their mind will I write them \\
\VS{17} And of their sins and of the lawlessness \\
I will \negd{not} still have remembrance.
\end{verse}
\VS{18} But where [there is] forgiveness of them, [there is] no longer sacrifice in behalf of sin.
\VS{19} Having therefore, brothers, boldness for access to the holy
[things] in the blood of Jesus,
\VS{20} which recent and zoe-living\fnZoe{} way he dedicated to
us through the veil, this is of his flesh,
\VS{21} and [he being a] great priest upon the house of God,
\VS{22} let us come with [a] true heart in
certainty\footnote{or ``full assurance''} of belief, your hearts being
sprinkled from [a] wicked\fnPoneros{} conscience and the body being washed in pure water.
\VS{23} Let us hold fast the confession\footnote{or ``agreement''} of hope
without wavering, for trustworthy is the [one] having promised,
\VS{24} and let
us consider one another for provoking agape-love and good works,
\VS{25} not
forsaking the gathering [of yourselves] together, and so much the more as you see
the day drawing nigh\footnote{or ``at hand''}.
\VS{26} For when we are
voluntarily sinning after having received the knowledge of truth, no longer
for sins does there remain [a] sacrifice,
\VS{27} but [a] certain fearful
expectation of judgment of fire, [a] zeal [about] to consume the opposed.
\VS{28}
Whoever setting aside [the] law of Moses upon two or three witnesses is killed
without compassion,
\VS{29} how much worse do you suppose he will be deemed
worthy of punishment who has trampled the son of God and has regarded [as]
profane the blood of the contract\footnote{or ``covenant'', ``testament''},
in which he has been made holy, and has insulted the spirit of grace?
\VS{30} For we know the [one] having said: To me [is] vengeance, \underline{I} will
repay; and again, The Lord judges his people.
\VS{31} [it is a] fearful [thing] to fall into the hands of the zoe-living\fnZoe{} God.
\VS{32} But be remembering the former days in
which, having been illuminated, you endured many struggles of suffering,
\VS{33} this on the one hand for [a] reproach and for [a] distress [you] being put to
shame, but this on the other hand [you] having become partners of this dwelling.
\VS{34} For even with prisoners you sympathize, and you accept the plunder
[of your] possessions, knowing yourselves to be having greater property\footnote{or
``existence''} and abiding.
\VS{35} Do not cast away therefore your
boldness\footnote{or ``confidence''}, [for] which he has great recompense.
\VS{36} For you have need of endurance in order that, having done the will
of God, you may receive the promise.
\begin{verse}
\VS{37} For yet [a] little while \\
The coming [one] will arrive and will not delay, \\
\VS{38} But my just [one] will zoe-live\fnZoe{} by faith, \\
And if he withdraw, my psyche-life\fnPsyche{} takes no pleasure in him.
\end{verse}
\VS{39} But \underline{we} are not of withdrawing to destruction, but of
faith to preserving of [the] psyche-life\fnPsyche{}.
