\subsection{II Timothy 4}

|
\VS{1} I adjure you before God and Christ Jesus, who is [about] to be judging [the] zoe-living\fnZoe{} and [the] dead, and his appearance and his kingdom:
|
|
\VS{2} preach the word, be ready in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, exhort,
|
|
in all long-suffering and teaching.
|
|
\VS{3} For the opportune-time\fnKairos{} will come when they will not endure
|
|
sound teaching, but according to their own lusts they will heap to
|
|
themselves teachers, having itching hearing,
|
|
\VS{4} and they will turn
|
|
[their] hearing away from the truth, and will be turned to myths.
|
|
\VS{5} But you be being sober in everything, endure evil,
|
|
do [the] work of [a] good-newser, fulfill you service.
|
|
\VS{6} For I am ready to be sacrificed, and the opportune-time\fnKairos{} of my
|
|
departure is imminent.
|
|
\VS{7} I have fought the good fight, I have completed the course, I have kept the faith,
|
|
\VS{8} henceforth is stored up for me the
|
|
crown of justice, which the Lord will render me in that day, the just judge,
|
|
and not only to me, but also to all those having agape-loved his appearance.
|
|
|
|
\VS{9} Be earnest to come to me swiftly.
|
|
\VS{10} For Demas has forsaken me,
|
|
having agape-loved the present age, and he went to Thessalonika, Kreskos to
|
|
Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
|
|
\VS{11} Luke only is with me. Having taken Mark,
|
|
bring [him] with you, for he is useful to me for service.
|
|
\VS{12} And I sent Tuchikon to Ephesus.
|
|
\VS{13} The cloak which I left in Troas with Carpus,
|
|
when you come, be bringing [it], and the scroll, and especially [the] parchments.
|
|
\VS{14} Alexander the coppersmith has done me much evil, the Lord will
|
|
render to him according to his works,
|
|
\VS{15} of whom you also be on guard,
|
|
for he has exceedingly opposed our words.
|
|
\VS{16} At my first defense no one
|
|
stood with me, but all abandoned me. May it not be reckoned to them.
|
|
\VS{17} But the Lord stood by me and enabled me, in order that my proclamation be
|
|
fulfilled and all the nations hear, and I was rescued from the lion's mouth.
|
|
\VS{18} The Lord will rescue me from every wicked\fnPoneros{} work and will save [me] for
|
|
his heavenly kingdom, to whom [be] the glory to the ages of ages, Amen.
|
|
\VS{19} Greet Priska and Akula and the household of Onesiphorus.
|
|
\VS{20} Erastos
|
|
abode in Corinth, but Trophimus I left in Miletus being sick.
|
|
\VS{21} Be earnest to come before winter. Euboulos greets you, and Poudens and Linus
|
|
and Klaudia and all the brothers.
|
|
|
|
\VS{22} The Lord [be] with your spirit. The grace [be]\footnote{or ``[is]''} with you.
