> Cast Your Burden On The LORD
>> Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
Occasion: When I can't let something go
Lord, here it is again.
The memory.
The conversation.
The mistake.
The thing I wish had happened differently.
I have carried it through breakfast,
through work,
through quiet hours.
I put it aside,
then discover it in my hands again.
Part of me seems to believe
that if I think about it long enough
I can change what has already happened.
I cannot.
Show me whether there is something here
I still need to do.
If I need to apologize,
give me courage.
If I need to make something right,
show me how.
If I need to learn something,
keep me teachable.
But if there is nothing left to do,
teach me to stop rehearsing it in my head.
Here is the burden, Lord.
I am putting it down again.
And if I pick it up tomorrow,
I will bring it back again.
Amen. |
