## 18:2
%% 4
> My Rock and My Fortress
>> The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
Occasion: After a close call
Lord, I can still hear it ---
the brakes,
the screech of tires,
the sharp breath I took when I saw how near it was.
Receive this shaking body.
My heart has not yet understood
that the danger has passed.
Part of me is still bracing,
still waiting for what almost happened.
Help me see that I was spared,
not by luck,
but by Your unseen hands.
I do not know what to do
with the relief, the fear,
or the knowledge of how quickly life can change.
My mind keeps returning there,
trying to live the moment again
and change what is already past.
I'm tired of the replay,
but I don't know how to stop it.
Be my high tower above the replay.
Set my feet back on the ground,
here in this present moment.
Bring me quiet,
clear speech,
and rest when night comes.
I can still hear it.
Let me hear Your deliverance louder.
Amen.
