\VS{1} Paul, apostle, not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and
|
|
God [the] father having raised him from the dead,
|
|
\VS{2} and all the brothers
|
|
with me, to the assemblies\fnEkklhsia{} of Galatia,
|
|
\VS{3} grace to you and peace from God
|
|
our father and [our] Lord Jesus Christ,
|
|
\VS{4} the [one] having given himself in
|
|
behalf of our sins, in order that he deliver us from this present wicked\fnPoneros{}
|
|
age, according to the will of our God and father,
|
|
\VS{5} to whom [be] the glory
|
|
to the eternities of eternities.
|
|
|
|
\VS{6} I marvel that thus swiftly are you turned away from the [one] having
|
|
called you by [the] grace of Christ to another good-news,
|
|
\VS{7} which is not
|
|
another; except [that] there are those troubling you and wishing to
|
|
alter\footnote{or ``pervert''} the good-news of Christ.
|
|
\VS{8} But if we or
|
|
[an] angel from heaven good-news to you beside what we good-newsed to you,
|
|
let\fnImperative{} him be accursed.
|
|
\VS{9} As I have foretold you, and
|
|
I now say again, if anyone good-news to you beside what you have received,
|
|
let\fnImperative{} him be accursed.
|
|
\VS{10} For do I now persuade men
|
|
or God? Or do I seek to be pleasing men? For if I yet pleased men, I would
|
|
not be the slave of Christ.
|
|
\VS{11} For I make known to you, brothers, the
|
|
good-news [which was] good-newsed by me that is not according to men.
|
|
\VS{12} For I
|
|
neither received it from men, neither was I taught [it], but through [the] revelation
|
|
from Jesus Christ.
|
|
\VS{13} For you heard my manner-of-life when [I was] in Judaism,
|
|
that beyond measure I was persecuting the assembly\fnEkklhsia{} of God and was pillaging
|
|
it,
|
|
\VS{14} and I was advancing in Judaism above many of [my] peers in my race,
|
|
being [a] far greater zealot of the traditions of my fathers.
|
|
\VS{15} But when
|
|
it pleased the [one] having separated me from my mother's belly and having called
|
|
[me] through his grace
|
|
\VS{16} to reveal his son in me, in order that I be
|
|
good-newsing him among the nations, straightway I did not consult with flesh
|
|
and blood,
|
|
\VS{17} neither did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles before
|
|
me, but I went up to Arabia, and again I returned to Damascus.
|
|
\VS{18} Then
|
|
after three years I went up to Jerusalem to introduce myself to
|
|
Cephas\footnote{i.e. Peter}, and I remained with him fifteen days.
|
|
\VS{19} But other apostles I saw not, except James the brother of the Lord.
|
|
\VS{20} Now what I write to you, behold before God, I do not lie.
|
|
\VS{21} Then I
|
|
came to the region of Syria and Cilicia.
|
|
\VS{22} But I was unknown by face to the assemblies\fnEkklhsia{} of the Jews in Christ.
|
|
\VS{23} But they were hearing only
|
|
that: The [one] persecuting us formerly, now good-newses the faith which he
|
|
formerly pillaged,
|
|
\VS{24} and they were glorifying God in me.
