\subsection{Revelation 6}
\VS{1} And I saw when the lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of
the four living [creatures] saying as with the voice of thunder: Be coming.
\VS{2} And
I saw and behold [there was a] white horse, and the [one] having sat upon it having [a] bow, and
[a] crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and in order that he
conquer.
\VS{3} And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second
living [creature] saying: Be coming.
\VS{4} And there went out another horse [that was] red, and
to the one sitting upon it was given to him to take peace from the land,
and in order that they slay one another, and [a] great sword was given to him.
\VS{5} And when the third seal was opened, I heard the third living
[creature] saying: Be coming, and behold [there was a] black horse, and the [one] having sat upon it
[was] having [a] balance\footnote{or ``yoke''} in his hand.
\VS{6} And I heard as
[a] voice in the midst of the four living [creatures] saying: A quart of wheat [for a] denarius\footnote{approx. an average day's wages},and three quarts of barley
[for a] denarius\footnote{approx. an average day's wages}, and you should not
injure the oil and the wine.
\VS{7} And when he opened the fourth seal, I
heard [the] voice of the fourth living [creature] saying: Be coming.
\VS{8} And I saw, and behold [there was a]
pale\footnote{or ``yellowish green''} horse, and the [one] having sat
upon it, his name [was] death, and Hades\fnHades{} followed him, and authority was given to them over a quarter of the land, to kill with sword and with famine and
with death, and with the wild-beasts of the land.
\VS{9} And when the fifth
seal was opened, I saw under the altar the psyche-lives\fnPsyche{} of those slain because of
the word of God and because of the testimony which they had.
\VS{10} And they cried out with [a] great voice saying: How long, O holy and true
Lord\fnDespotes(), do you not judge and revenge our blood on those
dwelling upon the land?
\VS{11} And [a] white robe was given to each of them,
and it was said to them that they rest yet a little time, until their
fellow-slaves and their brothers [about] to be killed, as they [were] also, be fulfilled.
\VS{12} And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and [a] great earthquake came
to pass, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the entire moon
became as sackcloth of hair, and the entire moon became as blood,
\VS{13} and the stars of heaven fell upon the earth, as [a] fig tree throws her
untimely-figs [when] shaken by [a] great wind,
\VS{14} and heaven was separated as
[a] rolled-up scroll, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
\VS{15} And the kings of the land and the great [men] and the captains and the
wealthy and the strong and every slave and free hid themselves in the caves
and in the rocks of the mountains,
\VS{16} and they say to the mountains and
to the rocks: Fall upon us and hide us from the face of the [one] having sat upon
the throne and from the wrath of the lamb.
\VS{17} For the great day of his
wrath has come, and who is able to stand?
